The room was overflowing with excited fans for Amy Shark’s second sold out show at The Tivoli on Friday night.
Fans made sure to get in early and secure their spots on the dancefloor for what would was one of the final shows of the Love Monster tour. To begin the evening, the crowd was entertained by the talented singer-songwriter Alexander Biggs and the ever so energetic E^ST who had been showcasing their music as support acts throughout their time on tour.

Alexander Biggs and E^ST supported Amy Shark on her Love Monster Tour.

By the time the lights dimmed in preparation for the main act herself, the mezzanine was buzzing with the eager faces of those that couldn’t fit on the floor below, as fan’s had their phones at the ready, keen to catch those first glimpses of the Queensland songstress. An opening track of popular Les Miserables’ ‘Do You Hear The People Sing’ had the crowd chanting along as Shark strolled on stage to collect her guitar and serenade her audience.

Donning her signature hairstyle of a messy half-up top bun and a glam black bomber jacket with metallic gold and silver paneling, Shark played through hits from her album while showing her down-to-earth nature in between tracks, adding quick stories about her songs and how they came to be. Her band, consisting of a drummer playing an emerald green kit and bass and synth player, were propped up behind the artist’s name in large cut out lettering that reflected the lighting being projected on the stage beautifully.

An unexpected cover of Wheatus’ ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ was a crowd favourite towards the end of the set and after an honest approach to an encore, with her stating she’s “never been a fan”, she asked her audience to continue screaming like they had been doing all night while she walked off stage and returned just as quickly.

To finish her set, Shark played her Triple J Hottest 100 finalist track ‘Adore’ and closed the night in a shower of gold confetti, playing out her current single ‘Said Hi’.
A mesmerising night to say the least, Shark wowed the crowd from start to finish.
