5 things we learned at Legends In Concert at Crown Melbourne
To call the cast of Legends In Concert simply tribute acts would be a grave injustice because this lot are stars in their own right.
Bringing the legendary Las Vegas show to Crown Melbourne for a super limited run, the all-star performers deliver a tribute show unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Here are five things we learned after watching Legends In Concert live:
There’s no detail missed
These are no first-time performers and they’ve perfected their acts to the finest detail. Projected onto the big screens either side of the stage is footage of both the actual musicians and their tribute acts, but as the clips cut away, it becomes harder to decipher which one is in front of you.
They don’t make them like they used to
First Prince, then David Bowie, into Michael Jackson and onto Elvis. Legends In Concert is able to transport you back to the very best musical eras, allowing you to experience songs you may never have seen live before. It may not be the real thing, but it’s as close as we’ve seen it done.
It’s a great night out
Crown Melbourne is made for memorable nights out and The Palms venue even more so. We went on the eve of Australia Day which meant everyone was ready to party and with only weekend shows remaining, you’re guaranteed a wild night.
They’ve put the Aussie stamp on things
Organisers could’ve quite easily plonked the Vegas show in the heart of Melbourne and left it untouched, but thankfully they didn’t. Instead they’ve added the show’s first ever Olivia Newtown-John tribute act, along with countless other Aussie touches.
You’ll be blown away by the production
Between the costumes, the makeovers, the live band and the stage lighting, the Legends In Concert show is impressive enough to rival any of the acts they’re honouring. Expect all the big moments but on an intimate stage in Melbourne!
