You’re right to do a double take when you see the shows that 5 Seconds of Summer have just announced in Australia.

The Australian pop quartet have confirmed plans to play a series of very intimate shows this May, including a night at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Tuesday 29 May 2018.

5SOS have planned the gigs to coincide with the release of their brand new single, Want You Back, also out today. The gigs ALSO form part of what will be the 5SOS3 world tour.

Want You Back is the band’s first new single in almost two years, which follows 18 months on the road in support of their No #1 sophomore album, Sounds Good Feels Good.

Word has it, 5SOS – Luke HemmingS, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford – have spent the last year living, writing and recording their new album in Los Angeles, set for release this year.

5SOS told fans today, “Finally… It’s been 3 years since our last album and we are so ready to share new music with the world. After spending the last 5 years on the road since the age of 16, it was important we took time to reflect as individuals and now we’re coming back stronger and more unified than ever. These songs mean the world to us and we have held nothing back in writing and recording this album. We’ve been rehearsing a lot of the new songs live and can’t wait to get back out on tour to connect with our incredible fans.”

We probably don’t need to tell you how popular these shows are going to be, so we’ve rounded up some essential tips to help improve your chances of getting tickets when they go on sale at 1pm (local time) on Friday 2 March. Scroll down to get prepped!
